This 2-day Sapa & Fansipan tour combines two of northern Vietnam's most rewarding experiences in a single itinerary. On Day 1, you arrive in Sapa and spend the afternoon exploring Cat Cat Village — a living Black Hmong community set in a mountain gorge with traditional weaving, a French-era waterfall and over a century of highland culture. On Day 2, you ride the cable car to the summit of Fansipan at 3,143m — the highest point in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia combined.

🏔️ Fansipan — "Roof of Indochina"

Fansipan (Phan Xi Păng) stands at 3,143 meters in the Hoang Lien Son range. The Sun World cable car (opened 2016) is the world's longest three-rope cable car at 6,292 meters. After the 20-minute ascent, 600 stone stairs lead to the summit cross — approximately 1.5 hours round trip. The cable car ticket (~$39 value) is fully included in your tour price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Fansipan cable car included in the tour price?+
Yes — the Fansipan cable car round-trip is fully included in both the $139 Superior and $169 Deluxe packages. The cable car alone retails at approximately $39/person. The optional Do Quyen peak train (+$8/person) is payable on the day.
What time is hotel pickup in Hanoi? What time do we return?+
Your hotel lobby pickup time in Hanoi is confirmed by WhatsApp the evening before departure. The journey to Sapa is approximately 4.5 hours. On Day 2, the return bus departs Sapa in the afternoon, arriving back at your Hanoi hotel in the evening.
How difficult is the Fansipan climb? Is it suitable for older travelers?+
Rated Moderate. After the cable car, you climb approximately 600 stone stairs — about 1–1.5 hours round trip. Most travelers aged 8–70 with average fitness complete this comfortably. The Cat Cat Village trek on Day 1 is easy — 3km on paved flat paths.
What is the cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation 72+ hours before departure. 50% refund 48–72 hours before. Non-refundable under 48 hours. If EcoSapa Bus cancels due to weather or force majeure — full refund or free rebooking. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for your Vietnam trip.
Can I travel solo? Is this tour group-based?+
Solo travelers are very welcome. This is a small group tour — maximum 12 people. For a fully private experience, contact us via WhatsApp for private tour pricing.
How is EcoSapa Bus different from the overnight train?+
The overnight train takes 8–10 hours in a shared sleeping berth — you arrive tired. EcoSapa VIP limousine takes 4.5 hours with reclining seats, AC, Wi-Fi, and hotel door pickup. Faster, more comfortable, and direct — for most Western travelers it's the clear choice. See our full comparison: Hanoi to Sapa transport guide →
