Along the scenic drive, pause at Thung Khe Pass, where sweeping views of limestone peaks and rolling valleys provide the perfect photo opportunity.

Upon arrival in Mai Chau around midday, meet your local guide and settle into a charming traditional homestay. Take in a hearty home-cooked lunch featuring local specialties before taking some time to relax and soak in the tranquil countryside atmosphere.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, hop on a bicycle for a leisurely ride through the picturesque valley. Pedal past emerald rice fields, wooden stilt houses, and friendly villages while gaining insight into the daily life of the local Thai ethnic community. Stop by the small local market to experience the authentic rhythm of rural life.

Return to your homestay in the late afternoon for some downtime before dinner. In the evening, savour another delicious local meal and take in the peaceful surroundings at your leisure.

NOTE: A Stilt House is a traditional homestay style commonly used by the Thai ethnic minority in Mai Chau. Accommodation is in a spacious shared room with individual mattresses separated by curtains on three sides for added privacy. Double-sized mattresses for couples are available upon request.

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the countryside and take in breakfast at your homestay before departing for the stunning landscapes of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Surrounded by limestone mountains, terraced rice fields, and traditional villages, Pu Luong is one of northern Vietnam’s hidden gems.

Upon arrival, begin your morning trekking adventure from Hang Village to Eo Ken Village. Walk through scenic rural paths, passing local homes, cultivated fields, and beautiful mountain landscapes while experiencing the authentic daily life of the region’s ethnic communities.

After the trek, continue by vehicle to your accommodation in Pu Luong. Check in to your room and take in some time to rest before lunch.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, set out on another rewarding trek through the reserve. Transfer to the starting point and begin a 10-kilometre walk to Kho Muong, a remote village nestled in a secluded valley and home to the largest cave in Pu Luong. Follow off-road trails across streams, forested paths, and hillside terrain for an immersive nature experience.

Continue onwards to Bang Village, where Travelers can take in traditional houses set among spectacular terraced rice fields. The peaceful scenery and fresh mountain air make this one of the highlights of the region. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon and relax.

In the evening, you may choose to join an optional cooking class to learn how to prepare local dishes. Afterwards, take in a delicious dinner and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Begin your morning in the fresh mountain air of Pu Luong with breakfast at your accommodation before completing check-out procedures. Take some time to prepare for the day ahead and take in the peaceful surroundings one last time before departure.

Later in the morning, explore one of Pu Luong’s most fascinating local features - the giant bamboo water wheels created by the region’s ethnic minority communities. These ingenious traditional structures use the natural flow of streams to channel water to nearby rice fields and offer a wonderful glimpse into local agricultural life.

After the explore, bid farewell to your local guide and depart for Ninh Binh. The journey takes approximately 3 hours through scenic countryside landscapes.

An optional lunch stop at a local restaurant can be arranged along the way.

Afternoon

Arrive in Tam Coc, one of Ninh Binh’s most charming areas. Check in to your accommodation and take in the remainder of the day at leisure.

You may wish to relax at the hotel or take a bicycle to explore the peaceful villages, rice paddies, and country lanes nearby.

In the evening, take in a delicious dinner before spending the rest of the night at your own pace.

NOTE: Bid farewell to your tour guide after the final activity in Pu Luong before continuing to Ninh Binh. The remainder of the day in Ninh Binh is at leisure for your own relaxation and exploration.

After breakfast, begin your final day of exploration in Ninh Binh with a explore to the famous Mua Cave. Climb approximately 500 stone steps to the summit, where Travelers will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over Tam Coc’s winding river, dramatic limestone karsts, and patchwork rice fields below.

Continue to Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the 10th and 11th centuries.

Explore the historic citadel area and explore the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, two important figures in Vietnamese history. Dating back to the 17th century, these beautifully preserved temples offer fascinating insight into the country’s royal past.

Afterwards, take in lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, discover the spectacular Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its serene waterways and towering limestone scenery.

Board a traditional boat for a memorable journey through tranquil rivers, lush valleys, and a series of stunning caves, including an impressive tunnel stretching nearly one kilometre in length. This leisurely boat trip is one of Ninh Binh’s true highlights.
